Your Body, Your Vehicle- by Rina Jakubowicz

When your car needs repair, where do you take it? To a repair shop, right? Regardless if it's an expensive repair shop or a cheap one, it doesn't matter. What you care about is that your car gets fixed so it runs smoothly. And, in order to prevent your care from going into the shop, you change the oil regularly, you put air in the tires, you avoid driving fast over potholes and speed bumps, you wash the interior and the exterior when it gets dirty, you get your brakes checked, you get the idea.

In addition, how you drive your car can help you keep it out of the shop. Do you drive too fast or too slow? Do you always get lost? Do you rely on a map or directions? Do you trust your instincts when you drive? Do you panic when you don't know where you are going? Do you curse at people who cut you off? Or, are you the one who always cuts people off? Do you drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol? Do you multitask while driving? The answers to these questions may help you reflect on how you are presently approaching your life, in general.

As you know, your car is a vehicle. It takes you from place to place, just like your body does. So, your body is also a vehicle. But, it's not a motor vehicle; it's an energy vehicle. It contains and directs your life force energy, otherwise known as your soul or spirit. Just as your car gets old and rusted, so does your body. And when it is time to give up the body, it dies. But, your energy and soul stay vital and in tact. So, it may just be time for a new vehicle.

What's important is how you take care of your vehicle- your body- in this life, now.

When your body is feeling low, tired, depressed, weak, tight, anxious, heavy, etc, what do you do to make it feel better? Do you fuel your body with fleeting ways to make you feel better like smoke cigarettes, do drugs, eat junk food, watch TV, drink alcohol, have meaningless sex, gossip? All of these things will only temporarily make you feel better, so when you come down from this illusion or your vehicle being "fixed," you will only crash your vehicle more.

There are healthy fuels for your body, which can positively affect your energy, emotions, and mind. You can eat healthy foods, do exercise like yoga, engage in creative activities, read an uplifting book, watch the sunset or sunrise, spend quality time with your loved one(s), be in the outdoors, think positive thoughts, and get good rest.

You can also meditate, love unconditionally, feel compassion, heal yourself, help others, and discover your inner beauty and peace. From my experience, these last six mentioned are by far the most powerful and effective tools to use when searching for lasting happiness and peace, but all of the previous ones can be part of your path to discovering these sacred six tools.

How are you going to fuel your vehicle right now so that it will rev up your engine and keep you cruising smoothly?

Of course, I would say, come to yoga more often! But, I leave it up to you. :)
